Origin of Gorka's costume

The main difference between Gorka’s military suit – high thermal insulation properties. Equipment for units stationed in mountainous areas, with additional insulation, existed back in the First World War. During the Second World War, the standard kit was modernized for better resistance to cold, snowfall, and rain.

The official time of invention of the Gorka form was in the 80s of the last century. She passed her first test during the Afghan War, winning recognition among the military, and subsequently tourists around the world.

Purpose and features of Gorok suits

The Gorka tactical suit embodies the best qualities of a military uniform to withstand difficult natural conditions – heavy rains, strong winds, snowfalls, fogs. The set includes tactical pants and a military jacket in classic or anorak style. The design advantages of the model include:

additional fabric pads on the knees, elbows, shoulders, and drawstring hood to keep you dry in the rain;

knee pads and elbow pads may have an additional protective layer of plastic to protect against cuts and abrasions;

windproof dense fabric;

drawstrings in the area of the knees, elbows, belt, hem of the jacket for a better fit of clothes in the wind;

elastic inserts on the legs, due to which they can be easily tucked into shoes, and when put on untucked, dirt and sand do not get under them;

loose cut that does not restrict movement, allowing for an additional warm layer of clothing;

increased strength and wear resistance due to the use of combined fabrics with a small admixture of cotton.

Variety of slides

The Gorka military uniform is available in three variations:

Gorka-3 – a classic model made of canvas material with high windproof and moisture-resistant properties;

Gorka-4 – instead of a classic jacket, it has an anorak jacket, put on over the head, with a large pocket for cards and documents on the front panel;

Gorka-5 – made of wear-resistant rip-stop fabric and may have an additional fleece layer.

The summer Gorka suit does not have additional insulation, contains a large percentage of cotton, and protects primarily from gusty winds and rain. The Gorka winter suit is equipped with a membrane lining, which removes moisture from the outside and prevents the formation of condensation inside, and maintains temperature well. When sewing, thermotex, alova and “cat’s eye” are used.

Demi-season variations – This is a special forces slide designed for a wide range of environmental conditions, in which soldiers feel comfort and freedom of movement despite the dense material. Made from cotton fabric with a small admixture of synthetics, supplemented with a layer of raincoat fabric.

In addition to the official Pixel MM 14 camouflage, the Gorka Multicam suit, plain models in black and olive, is also common in Ukraine.
